I am going to be mounting one or two strobes on a PT-023. What trays do people use for these? Strobes will be Sea & Sea YS 90. Amphibico Ultralight arms if I have not yet maxed out my credit card:D

I have a dual handle Ikelite tray that I use with my PT-015. I only use a single strobe but I wanted the two handles for easy of use and the ability to add another strobe later.
The tray ran about $75 at www.reefphoto.com. As far as I know the PT-023 will easily mount to this tray.

People like the Fisheye tray/arm here:

You can make your own from Loc-Line components here:

Example of a tray arm using Loc Line to mount PT-023 and YS-90 auto strobe:

Another example, using Ikelite tray/housing and Loc Line arms for Ikelite DS-125s.

Now, my rig. I built a tray arm with Loc Line for a PT-027 and YS-90DX, using the HeinrichsWeikamp Oly TTL converter. I wanted a very light weight compact rig for travel. I used a standard aluminum camera flash bracket, drilled a hole for mounting my arm, and bolted on some Loc Line components to make a very light, flexible arm. I use an aftermarket converter to translate the Olympus hotshoe strobe signals to standard strobe signals for Nikonos type strobes (converter and bulkhead connector from HeinrichsWeikamp.com, model OLY TTL C N). Works great. The arm parts were a 3/4 standard base, a custom Sea&Sea strobe mount, 12 inches of 3/4 Loc Line (all from modularhose.com), and some 1/2" vinyl hose for a little additional stiffness.

Photos of this rig are posted in my Gallery Album "Camera Rigs".

I also have a homemade tray so as to accomodate two lens docks for my wet-mount lenses.

Give some thought as to what you want as a finished product before you buy.

Click on "my camera rig" below to see my homemade setup. I made it just slightly "positive buoyant". While it may appear heavy and bulky I can operate it single handed underwater because of how I positioned the housing on the tray.

Thanks for these very helpful suggestions and pictures!

We stock Fisheye Trays, ULCS Digital Trays, and Ikelite Trays.

Ever single customer I've ever had in the store comparing the different models in a touchy feely fashion has chosen the ULCS Digital Tray. The tray and handle is $69.90. More info is available at ulcs.com, in the What's New section.
