Hey guys, just got back from Cozumel and it will be the last time I check an extra bag of dive gear, $60 bucks for roundtrip. I am looking to fit all my gear into a carry on Dive Bag. What do my fellow travelers recommend for carry on bags and what fins are best for travel?? I currently have Atomic fins and they are muey grande.

...if you paying attention to current events, the airlines are apparently doing a 'muey grande' crack down on carry ons too...so don't look for that to save you........divers are pretty much 'muey' screwed.....

I just consider the need for 2 checked bags part of the cost of being a scuba diver. :D

I have a pair of Mares Avanti Superchannel full foot fins and love them. They are light weight and perform as well as my scubapro fins that are much heavier. It's the only fin I use now unless I'm going to Bonaire where you need booties for shore diving.

In most cases my dive gear will fit into a 20" bag. I then carry my clothes in a back pack( personal item). My fins are attached to my backpack by two straps that I have attached to the sides of the back pack. I snap the straps of my fins to the small carry handle on the top of the back pack. I have used this just a few times for liveaboard trips and has worked very well. Hope this helps.
