Hi...Hoping someone can help. We dive regularly in Bali due to the ease of shore diving and is great for our love of macro/micro photography. We do 2-3 dives per day of about 80-90 minutes. We use air or Nitrox.

We are thinking of a change of location (well I am, but hubby not so sure!!), and after some research have reduced it down to Anilao and Puerto Galera. This is due to ease from Manila airport after a long flight from the UK. We can go away for 4 weeks at a time. Best months for us to get away is April/May or October/November.
Questions:
1. Which would you say is the best month for diving: April, May, October or November?
2. Water temp for these months?
3. Any suggestions for best resorts who allow shore diving with some boat diving?

Thanks in advance...……..Chris

I think either time frame is fine, and you'll notice similar conditions. Just got back from Anilao area and the water was colder (25-26°c) with fairly poor visibility for PH waters. (We get an algae bloom with cooler waters).

As far as locations with Shore and Boat dives, almost anyone(anywhere) along Sabang Beach Puerto Galera can be dived from shore or boat. Anilao can be a bit more difficult to shore dive... Blue Ribbon has a shore dive house reef, as well as Dive&Trek.

We were at Crystal Blue in Anilao last year, great place, great food, great diving, but no dives without a divemaster!

I had a week in Buceo Anilao in February a few years ago and loved it. It was very cold underwater but the macro was incredible. There were more macro spots easier to see than the teeny tiny little things in Tulamben, but the coral was wonderful, so an unusual nudi sitting on beautiful coral made for a great photo . The food in Bali is better, but Anilao is definitely worth a cost. Everybody said that the water started to get warmer in April.
