Hi, I'm trying to find the best type of weights to use with my Halcyon ACB 12. Prior to getting the ACB 12 I was using 5lb coated solid weights on a weight belt, but The 5lb coated weights I have are just too thick to fit all the way into those little pockets and it is impossible to snap the ACB 12 pocket into place. I went to my LDS yesterday and it was everything I could do to squeeze a 5lb soft weight pouch into there. It felt like the snap was going to give way any minute. I could fit 2 of the 2lb soft weight pouches in there though but I need more weight than that. Anyway, I think the best way to go is just regular uncoated lead weights. I have checked a few of the shops around here and nobody carries them so I was just going to order a few of the Sea Pearls uncoated weights online. My question is does anyone know specifically if the Sea Pearls 6lb solid uncoated weight will fit into one of the Halcyon ACB 12 pockets or should I go with the 5lb uncoated weight for each pocket? I'd hate to order the 6 pounders and they not fit. Thanks in advance...

not sure about the sea pearls. The thing is, that the pockets have a curve in it, and that makes them less big.
I managed to put normal 2kg weights into each pocket somehow (4 lbs) and they snapped into place ok, but I usually do not use more than 1 kg in each. I think their purpose is more for trim rather than the bulk. I wear most of my weight on the weight belt and then spread a little around for trim. You can place some into the tank adapter (Halcyon sells a weighted tank adapter) or as ankle weights and some in the ACB pockets. That eases my weight belt load, but I prefer not too much in the ACB pockets because I do not like very heavy BP/W and tank packs (makes it a drag putting it on).

Good luck,

Alex
