i know how to use a dslr and what Av, Tv, P can do etc...

but with my point and shot with strobe that i have for my under water adventures, i dont have manual controls to modify any of that, if i put on auto regularly i just get a speed of 1/60. which other modes could work better than auto? i guess the sports mode will shot faster?. if i put manual mode it does not have the option to modify the av and tv values.

i do not have plans to buy a point and shoot with semi manual controls yet..

not all modes will fire off the internal flash, so putting on the sport mode might not automatically set off the flash.

don't use night portrait mode since the shutter speed might be very long.

i manage to get CHDK working on my cam, so now there will be no problem...
