Hello all, I have really enjoyed this scuba board.

I am ready to purchase my regulator setup. I am going with a scuba pro MK25/S600.

But I do not know what to get as far as my gauges. I don't have endless money and I have to buy for both myself and my son. I'm thinking of getting some type of small console that has my depth and pressure and also get a starter wrist computer. Now I know that there are endless possibilities for the endless money.

I would like some advice on what to get. If I can afford it I would like to get Nitrox ready so when I get that cert, I'll be ready. If there is a quality air integrated that that would be great too.

Thanks,
Michael

You will like your regulator. Since you are getting the wrist computer, which will display depth, I would get a "brass and glass" depth gauge, small and simple and will run under left arm and clip to chest strap d-ring or will run straight down to d-ring on waist belt.

Simple = better and cheaper.

Brass spg, no boot or console. Compass on one arm, bottom timer/computer (which isn't needed, btw) on the other. A simple bottom timer (like the one Uwatec makes) will serve you well, and provides you with depth, time, and max depth. By learning tables, you will be able to dive anything from air to nitrox to deep trimix with just that simple bottom timer.

You can get two of three of those for the price of a computer, and a brass and glass spg costs about 50-80 bucks. Cheap and versatile.
