Hi all - just wanted to see if anyone has recommendations about reputable diving company in Key West where you had a great experience, fairly low # of divers on the boat at a time, professional, etc. thanks in advance!

I prefer Sub Tropic on Roosevelt ...not as much a cattle boat as Capt Corners, boat stays on station for 2 dives on the Vandy, vs other boats do 1 dive there and then move on to a reef.Nitrox available there too. boat lets you dive your computer profile unescorted.

I was set up with them a few months ago. They decided not to get their boat wet all week. Was told the seas and wind was the reason. CC ran every day and had a great crew. That also can meet rec and tec divers needs. Mixes, stages, DECO, etc. One other thing that's cool is you can get out of the elements in a closed cabin if need be.

If you want to dive in the Keys, choose a place other than Key West. Try Marathon or Key Largo and you'll find a bit better diving and variation.
I love to visit Key West but it doesn't have the best diving of the Keys at least I've never seen it nor do I know of anyone that would disagree.

What caymaniac said. That is unless you just want to dive the Vandenberg. Same goes for Orange Beach/Oriskany.

If you choose an alternate Keys location, I would strongly recommend Ocean Divers out of Key Largo! The crew and shop exceeded all my expections and provided me with a very memorable trip.

I'll happily disagree with you, of course I live here, so I get to dive where the dive shops won't take you. Which is good, because the out of the way diving is awesome.
