I think the only place you can guarantee to see a Manbou in japan is at the Osaka aquarium!

When I saw one in Tago in January, the dive guide said it was very rare, and that they're usually around in April and May. But I got the impression that they're not common even at that time of year.

Actually, the Osaka manbo was the first one I ever saw, and since then I've been enamoured by this strangest of all fish!

Been meaning to dive Izu so I'll try and get out next month.
