Best place to see a manbo?

Where in Japan is the best place to see a manbo (sunfish)?

I've read they've been seen around Izu, but exactly where and how common is it?

I think the only place you can guarantee to see a Manbou in japan is at the Osaka aquarium!

When I saw one in Tago in January, the dive guide said it was very rare, and that they're usually around in April and May. But I got the impression that they're not common even at that time of year.

Actually, the Osaka manbo was the first one I ever saw, and since then I've been enamoured by this strangest of all fish!

Been meaning to dive Izu so I'll try and get out next month.

Considering it's so close to Tokyo, Izu's a great place to dive. West coast is generally better than east, but less accessible, unless you have a car!
