Glad to see my area represented! There’s also some nice shore dives off mainland LA in the OC area for those visiting but don’t want a whole day out to Catalina. Dana point, shaws cove, to name a few. Definitely not resort level but cheap and accessible

Does Florida have these guys?

Perhaps not, but does Puget Sound have These Guys??

I definitely want to dive the California and northern Pacific coast, and I love the wrecks and reefs of South Florida, but north central Florida and the Panhandle have the caves. It's another world entirely. With the appropriate gear and training, there is more to explore than anyone can do in a lifetime, no boat required and cleaning gear, at worst, is rinsing off some duckweed.

The majority of my dives are in So Cal with numerous of them off Catalina, the kelp is undeniably beautiful, I've been in south florida for last three years, and this Saturday when im at depth on a wreck wearing my board shorts in 87 degree water, I hope all you folks at Casino Point enjoy the best dive site in America! ;()

I don't have a horse in this race and the only place I have dived in the US is Florida, but I've come to the point where I would rather dive in warm water with good visibility than a colder, biodiverse environment. I just don't like being cold or encumbered by a drysuit.

I'm in Croatia as we speak.....it's nice warm water, great vis and the wrecks are ok but everything is utterly barren. (Stunningly beautfiul country above water though).

The diving is very depressing and I can't wait to get back to cold, interesting diving in Southern California.

I just spent the northern hemisphere summer in Cyprus, sounds like Croatia. Now back in NZ with all the fish and dodging sharks. Wish I was back in the Med.
