Thanks for the insight- I SEE YOUR POSTS ON THIS AND THE BBS SITE - I'm sure I'll see you in the water before long. C. AddyMaxBottomtime:Veteran's Park just south of the pier is the most popular site in Redondo Beach. During the Summer there are hundreds of divers during the weekends. There are also two groups that make Wednesday night dives there, mostly during the late Fall/Winter for the squid runs. When the surf is down, which is most of the time at Vet's, it is perhaps the easiest entry/exit in Los Angeles County. There are restrooms and VERY cold showers available to rinse gear. The parking lot has metered parking at 75 cents per hour. If you don't want to ask strangers to dive with you, there is also http://www.sandeaters.org/
pasley:As Maxbottome time said, http://www.sandeaters.org is a great way to go. They are not a dive club, no dues or memberhip or officers. Just an internet page with a calendar scheduling a dive for every Sunday and an e-mail list where you can send out a message and say, "want to dive, date, time, and location" and usally get a dive buddy or 3 or 4.
Malaga Cove is a geat shallow dive and easy with lots to see. Haggarties is also good and you can either climb the clif or enter from Malaga and swim. PV has lots of great dive sites, if you are in shape and willing to go over some goat trails or do some mountain climbing to get there.
There is the regular Wednesday Redondo Beach group which has already been mentioned.
Or you can PM me, I dive someplace every week, from Malibu to Laguan Beach.
