Hi @SteveInMD I see you already got a lot of great advice! You won’t find any bad dive shops on Grand Cayman, and everybody has of course a favourite one. That would also be my recommendation, contact a few, and go with the one that you feel the happiest with.
Saying that, I would like to chime in to offer an option I didn’t see mentioned yet. We work with the Holiday Inn resort and be happy to offer you an accommodation and diving package. We have an office at the Holiday Inn, and offer complimentary transfers to our boat dock.
From your post it is not clear if you have been to Grand Cayman yet, but to see the best my recommendation would be something like this:
Saturday
PM: shore check-out dive (time permitting)
Sunday
AM: 2-tank Wall & Reef dive
PM: Kittiwake wreck dive (1-tank or 2-tank options available)
Monday
AM: 2-tank Wall & Reef dive
PM: 2-tank Stingray City dive (12 feet deep ‘original’ Stingray City)
Although February is still high season, it shouldn’t be crazy busy (like this week!) and you should be able to find accommodation options, and the boats will most likely not be filled up. It is ‘winter’ here on the island, meaning that the winds coming from the east will still be strong and the calmest diving would be on the western leeward side.
