Sorry but that's bogus. Aqualung provides LP with all of their stock. (One way or another). They love those sales. "Keep grey sales down". ???? You kiddding? Where did you think that LP source their stock? Fuggehtabowtit.

From the Aqualung home page:

Q: Is Leisure Pro or Leisurepro.com an authorized Aqua Lung dealer?
No. Leisure Pro is not an authorized Aqua Lung dealer nor do we sell Aqua Lung, Sea Quest, Suunto or Apeks branded products to Leisure Pro. See Leisurepro is NOT an authorized Aqua Lung dealer

Dustinh,
Aqua Lung may be a bit picky about parts which are returned for replacement under their warranty, but what about the many thousands of non-gray market regs, which either are without warranty or have been bought second hand? Should service on these regs be denied? Even if such nonsense as you state above were written into the dealer agreement, it would be totally unenforceable. In addition, there is the fact that parts sales are a huge profit center for the manufacturer.

Aqualung offer free parts for life on their regs. I don't disagree that it's a silly policy. At the very least, AQ should let the LDS do the reg, and charge for parts. When you are a dealer and you log in to the aqualung web site, you are supposed to check the serial # of each reg that comes in. I don't know how sophisticated their computer networks are, and if they log each dealer's entry and the serial numbers that get logged in.

My guess is that aqualung is against internet sales as a way to help the LDS, but I'm not sure that policy is helping them or the LDS much. I wish there were aqualung reps on the board, but that's a whole different issue.

Oh I get it. The Aqualung equipment arrives in mysterious carriages drawn by Arabian steeds with a princess with glass shoes in the driver's seat. Just where do you suppose that LP gets their constant supply from? Boy, do I have a bridge to sell you...

Trust me, AL may bleat about how they don't support or recommend LP but they ship them plenty via "special methods" that are not shown in their website. :shocked2:
