I would like to know who in canada/us/uk sells suits for th best price. I want the best bang for my buck.

What are you looking for - a 0.5mm skin or a trilam drysuit

And are you after an online or LDS price? Your question is kind of like asking who sells cars for the best price.

Fit is almost EVERYTHING when it comes to exposure protection - this is one piece of equipment you're probably best off buying at your LDS where you can try it on for size, unless you can find an online source that is willing to ship you two or three sizes you can try on, and let you return the sizes that don't fit.

I am looking for a tri-lam. My local dive shops seem to feel there stuff is worth more than the rest of the world thinks.

Hey Ming I went that same route, and now it's gonna wind up costing me
a
whole lot more. I found the cheapest Bare ATR HD suit in Canada. It was
with Dan's Dive shop. I gave them my measurements by phone, knowing
full
well that I'm not a stock size. I'm 5'10 and a little chubby.

I was told by the SO-CALLED experts that the legs would be shortened to
fit me correctly. I received my suit to find that it is HUGE one me. I
called Dan's and spoke to Dan himself. He told me not to worry, try the
suit first, I'm sure it's gonna fit ok.

Well I wasted money for a dry suit course. The legs were sooo long that
my feet kept coming out of the fins. I had a miserable time. Not to
mention I had diving plans this weekend that I had to keep from doing.

When I called Dan's back to tell them the problem they stroked me
telling me they would contact Bare to find out what could be done for
me. well I'm still waiting to hear back from Dan's.

I called Bare myself only to learn from the manager there that Dan's
offered me a custom fit suit. I told the mgr that IF they did I would
have definitely gotten measured for a custom. It would have only cost
$200 more. I was already saving close to $1000 US so really for $200
more it would have been no problem.

I was also told by Dan (the OWNER), that Bare DOES NOT offer custom fit suits.
HE also assured me that they would shorten the legs and I would have a
great fitting suit. The mgr at Bare asked me where I live when I told
him I live in NYC, he told me I should have went to an Authorized
Dealer
near me. Kind of like saying that this is what you get for ordering via
online or phone, and trying to save money. the same way that the
SO-CALLED experts and authorized dealer should have told me that with
my
measurements I MUST GET A CUSTOM FIT SUIT.

But no, they were too interested in making a sale. They didn't care and
I'm sure they knew full well that a stock suit with 2 inches taken off
the legs would never fit me. they led me to believe that I was getting
a
custom fit suit. After all I had to take numerous measurements and give
them to them.

So after all this rambling here's my point. Don't try to cut corners.
IN
the long run it's cost you the same if not more. Now I have to send my
suit out to a REPUTABLE dry suit repair shop, and I have to pay to have
the suit redone to fit me properly. Something Dan's dive shop was not
capable to do nor did they care.

They got their money that's all they're interested in. Quick cash, quick
sale, screw the unsuspecting long distance customer.

Think about it before you possibly spend alot of unneeded money.

So what you are saying is if I fit into a stock suit I am ok, if I need a custom fit I need to go to a local shop.

That's what I'll be doing from now on. It cost me alot of money to have to learn that one.

typhoon from divers-supply, great quality zippers and valves, good trilam suit for the price
