What's you opinion on what location in the world is the most likely place you would run into wild dolphins while scuba diving, as close to guaranteed as possible?

The only two places I've ever seen them while diving are San Salvador in the Bahamas, and offshore North Carolina while on deco above the wrecks. LOTS of sightings at the surface...most places, in fact, including Bonaire, your favorite place.

Utila has them in wads at times. I was there a few years ago and the SIs were better than the diving. We contemplated making up T-shirts that said "Utila Suffers From a Dolphin Infestation Problem." That same week, we also spent time in the water with Pilot Whales and Whale Sharks.

I young friend of mine has been there all winter and she reported frequent sightings, but with all things in nature, the only thing that's guaranteed is that nothing is guaranteed.

Another option might be to check out Anhony's Key in Roatan. They have had a "semi-captive" breeding programme near them for years and there are options for dives with semi-wild dolphins. These beasts are kept in open ocean pens (and my guess is that they could easily jump out if they were inclined. For the dives, some of them are let out into the ocean to interact with divers. Pretty fun...

Here's a shot of those Pilot Whales. My daughter and I sploosed around with them for a half hour or so... alone. I think there was seven of them. Nobody else on board wanted to get in the water, which was really weird.

I had dolphin company on every dive in Rangiroa - also only did one dive in Mauritius but there is a local pod at Flic En Flac that are there every day.....unfortunately theres a lot of snorkel spot and leap tours going on at the same time but a couple of the dive ops will take you out later in the morning to where they hang.

It seems like I run into them pretty consistently on other people's FaceBook pages. :(

I did have them join me twice, once in Utila and once in the Marshall Islands.

Socorros or Kona.

I've only had them join me in the water at Roatan and just off San Pedro, Belize. Other than that, have seen them from the boat most everywhere else.

While spending a week on Turneffe Island in Belize we had a single dolphin join us on one of the nearby reef dives. Seemed as if it just wanted a little play time. It was a blast.
