Just thought I'd mention that we stayed at the Plaza and thought the food was pretty mediocre. Given the outstanding food we had at the places mentioned above (and others), I agree with the hotel for comfort, restaurant for gourmet stuff.

In a pinch, the food at the Plaza was fine, it just seemed pretty terrible compared to the delicious meals we had elsewhere on the island.

I would highly recommend Den Laman for a place to stay. http://www.denlaman.com/
We were there in February and the accommodations are new, clean and nice. The dive operation setup is great, dive equipment storage is at the base of the hotel, tanks on the dock or drive up for your truck. We will defiantly go back.

Thanks for the link for Denlaman's. We are planning a trip in November and I am in the midst of trying to figure out where to stay.

Short of breakfast-who cares about the Hotels....
Kirk (owner)at Lions Den is a great guy,and the food is good!
In all honesty there are lots of great free standing restaurants that are awesome.
Try some of the snack shacks and local food...
