Just got a Apeks DS4 with a TX50 and a TX40 backup. Would like info and or pics on the best way to orient the first stage for optimum hose routing. I am setting up DIR and will have the Tx50 on a 7' hose and the TX40 on a 22" hose over right shoulder bungeed around the neck. I also will have a drysuit hose on there as well as a Uwatec Master Diver SPG. Thanks alot.

Well i got excited when iread your post because i just did this to my new DS4 / TX50s. But then i saw yours was for a single tank setup. I dont know about the signles set up sorry. But i do love the Regs.

Andy

minus the dry suit.........

Sorry but I really suck at explaining things. When I was hooking my stuff together I had to get out my Fundamentals book and I found a pic to go by. I'm not sure but there may be a pic of how to rig your gear at the GUE website.

It is fairly straight forward...
The long hose off the rear right lp port...
The necklace off the front right lp port...
The wing/BC off the front left lp port...
The suit off the rear left lp port...
The spg off the left hp port...
I have the sealed end facing down...

This isn't a showroom picture but it might help:

hmmmm... i was led to believe that the two reg hoses should be the other way around ?

the long hose off the lower (front) port and the backup off the upper (rear) port ?

scream at me if I got it wrong :)

also, what about using the tx40 as the primary and the tx50 as the back up ?

You would know better than I what you were led to believe and I wouldn't scream at you anyway Blargh :D

Why would you want to use the TX40 for your primary and the TX50 for a backup?

I just got two DS4's for backgas and am currently playing with hose configurations. Let me know how ou guys set up.

I breathe short hose but can most likely adapt your long hose setup.

Thanks in advance
Chris

Thanks Mike! Those images show things real nicely.

I use the same 1st stage config (both my back gas 2nds are TX-50)

well, IF you had two tx50's - which would be the one that you'd detune before jumping in ? the one you breathe or the one that is spare and hanging ? ... and which would be the one you'd rather have adjustable ?
