Going to two weeks 11/30-12/10. Our sencond trip. I think we would like to try a day on the East side. Best spot or dive operation to set up with?

We have done both the east side boat dive and shore dive. If you have never dove the east side, either are good choices. But for me, I go to Bonaire for the shore diving and the east coast is no exception. So if I ever decide to dive it again it will be shore.

Bas Tol was our guide but Bas Noj and VIP diving also has a good reputation.

So I guess it just comes down to whether you prefer boat or shore. If you are not comfortable with what can be somewhat challenging entries and exits then you might prefer boat. Bas Tol will check your experience, fitness and comfort level when deciding the site. Weather conditions can also dictate site or if the east side is even doable by shore.

Here is my movie from April 2015. My favorite part of the dive was the swim from White Hole to Turtle City, just going with the flow over the sea fans (3:30 into the movie). White Hole is very cool too, with lots of resting tarpons and eels on the walls. Looking forward to doing it again in just over 60 days!

Outstanding video!
I personally never tire of diving the White Hole. Tarpon, eels and large schools of reef fish at the top of the drop off. As a lazy ass diver, I much prefer boat diving the east to shore based.

Grest info everyone. Wife loves the turtles and i love the eagle rays. We will hook up with East Coast Dives. Great video also! I have tons of vid and havegot to sit my tail down and learn how to edit properly.

We had a great day with East Coast Divers, but I've also heard wonderful things about Bas Tol. Unfortunately, Bas wasn't diving due to back pain when we were in Bonaire, but I'm looking to go out with him on my next visit. East Coast Divers take a super-charged RBI to push out past the surf, whereas my understanding is that Bas leads east coast shore dives from a wider variety of sites (when surf conditions allow.) Bas regularly posts videos on his FaceBook page, if you're interested.

It’s more than a few years old but here is our dive with Bas Tol...
