Hey Guys and Gals,

So I have been researching about dive sites that I seriously want to jump on over the next couple of years... Currently I have booked a few trips for next summer

But want to hear what you all think...

this is my list so far:

Barracuda Point, Sipadan Island, Malaysia

SS thistlestorm Red Sea, Egypt

great Blue Hole, Belize

sistema dos ojos, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

s
ilfra, Iceland

Japanese Gardens, Koh Tao, Thailand

Truk lagoon - micronesia

any other ideas?

Those sounds like amazing destinations.

BUT... keep in mind... if you are new to diving, a lot of these sites are technical in nature and will require a lot of training, time and money to even be able to dive some of these sites. You may keep them on your list, but may not be diving them for many years down the road when you have the training and experience. There are many many many places around the world that offer new divers great experiences though.

I see you're not certified yet. In your situation, I'd really reconsider at least a few of those destinations until you have a number of dives in your log. I'm quite green myself with a one year old AOW cert and close to 50 dives - most of those independent, without a guide or DM - in my log, and e.g. the Thistlegorm is something I might consider just now. I definitely wouldn't consider it with a brand new OW cert. And I still won't dive the Belize blue hole, if only half of what I hear about depth etc. is correct.

Take it easy, dive safe within your limits and abilities and progress slowly. Otherwise, you stand a fair chance of getting yourself killed.

Hey guys , thanks for the replies :) I'm fairly new but grew up with diving as my step mother is the world record freehold diver ... And I'm on an internship now for PADI up to DM .. It's full time ..

Hopefully within a year I can do more but my first is Malta in October :)
