I'm off to Playa Del Carmen (staying at Sandos Caracol) from the UK at Easter, and wanted some advice on decent dive outfits there.

I'm a PADI MSD with around 500+ dives in a variety of locations around the world. I want to get over to Cozumel and do a couple of dives, as well as trying some 'gentle' cenotes - plus of course the local diving on reef and the Chinchirro(?) banks.

I am pretty good on air and consequently want a centre that allows for that - done too many dives in the Caribbean where centres drag you out because the cruise ship diver on the boats have run out of air - and yes, I know not all cruise ship divers are like that but I have had some 'experiences'!

I want to do plenty of dives during the 2 weeks there, so any advice on a decent centre would be gratefully received - and sorry if there have been loads of posts like this in the past but its the forst time I've visited the board for a long while.

regards

Alan

I stayed at the Iberostar in 2003 and dove with Dressel Divers. They always had multiple divemasters so that the airburners could be escorted up while the fish could stay down and finish thier dive.

There about 50 of them. The general view is to dive with PDC shops on the Maya and with island based shops when diving off Cozumel.
