Best Dive Ever?

Wow..
Thats a tough one.. I haven't been diving as long as many people who will probably respond to this, so I might not of had as an amazing dive as them, but none the less.. I'll share my experience.
This happend last year.. This was our second dive of the day off the West end of Ana Cappa Is. off the cost of Ventura, California.
We approached an area, that was typically inhabited by sea lions, which we thought would be fun to play with.
When we got to the site, there weren't any, but the captain felt it wise to dive their anyway.
Current was small, viz waz great.. Why not right?
well about 10 minutes into our dive, i was tagging along behind my buddy looking around at the enourmous amount of star fish, and sea shells when I caught a glimpse of something out of the courner of my mask.
When I looked around, it was gone.. Probably just seeing something right?
Nope.. 10 seconds later, out of nowhere, a sea lion appeared right in front of me.. We were in about 30 feet of water. It just kinda sat there, looking at me. It was incredible!
It didn't know what I was, so it reached out and grabbed one of my fins, which it tried to pull off.. When that was unsuccessful, he tried to bite it! I was laughing so hard in my regulator.. He took off soon after that proved useless, and buzzed by my buddy knocking his regulator out of his mouth..
When we got back up, there were sea lions everywhere.. at least a dozen..
By far, that was the best dive I've ever done.
What else can people share with us?

Best dive ever??? I think it's yet to come.
Wreck diving a virgin wreck.
I've never been first on a new wreck but I've been 4th or 5th. Sliding down through the water and that first shadowy silhoutte of a something comes into view and you don't know what your going to see and it opens up to a shipwreck. That's a rush! Even if others have been on it it's still great.
Right now we have 10' seas outside But if it calms down tonite.
Diving tomorrow...

For me it would have to be Palau hanging around on a reef hook. Millions of fish. Saw half a dozen sharks circleing around. That's wansn't what made it the greatest. I've been hanging around the same spot for about 10 min and saw something casting a shadow to the right of me. I was afraid to look at first because if something that big was going to cast a shadow, I'm in for a real surprise. So I slowly creep my head to the right and saw the biggest female Napoleon Wrasse I have ever seen. It was about 6-7 ft in length. The reason it was casting a shadow was because it was about 2 ft beside me!!! We stared at each other for a good minute and she left. I still remember ever little detail on this magnificant creature. Every scale, every flaw and every prefection was so amazing close up. Felt like we made small talk and went on our way.
Now a days when I get stressed, I just remember that moment I had with this fish and everything seems insignificant.

Well, I guess somebody has to say this! I hope that my best dive ever is still to come. There's so much to anticipate and so many wonderful dive sites to visit and explore.
Putting all cleverness aside though, to date my best dive was the open water one I did in Cyprus to complete my PADI Scuba Diver qual. I was in warm water, with abundant marine life, an excellent instructor and my 14-year old son. We reached a point about half way through the dive when we just looked at each other and gave it a high five. I guess many of you will remember that, 'Wow, it's working!' moment in your diving life.
Going back to Cyprus in about 4 weeks (having got up to PADI OW in the meantime). Can't wait!!

My husband & I have dived Catalina, CA's Casino Point many times, but once we saw 3 huge black sea bass! My husband chased one & the other 2 stared at me as much as I stared at them. Since that day, the bass have been common, but when we came topside & told our find, the story travelled so fast, pretty soon people were telling us, "Some couple just saw some rare black sea bass today."

My first cave dive after certification into Peacock. It was the first time I got to just play around in the cave without things constantly, nd purposely, going "wrong".
Molokini crater off Maui. The vis was 180', the water was 75F, and it was my first tropical boat dive. Being able to see literally dozens of divers, four or five boats, the bottom, and everything in between all at once was a real treat. I felt like I was hanging in blue space watching a movie.
As I was typing that, I remembered other dives that were equally memorable, making it too hard to choose an all-time fav. But, Molokini is definitely up there.

My 1st night dive off of the Kona Coast. I saw at least a dozen Manta Rays and an endagered lobster. I think of that dive every time I am planning a night dive
