Well I'm sure you guys get about a million of "which 'x' would you buy" threads but anyways here's one more for the pile.
I'm a drysuit diver & I'm trying to find a really great BC that is tough as @#$%! & can upgrade to twins down the road. I'm looking at something at least like Oceanic's Chute 3. Dacor can go to hell, very interested in some of the goodies from Mares...
Any thoughts?

Get a backplate and a set of wings. IMO, it's ideal for what you describe.

You might check out the Matrix by Deep Outdoors. IMO few traditional BCs can handle doubles, even if they say they can. The Matrix comes with a stainless steel backplate, so would probably be more stable than most. Have you considered a backplate & wings setup?

I agree the Matrix is worth checking out. I love mine. Seems to be the best of both worlds with the steel back plate and comfy padded harness. The only recomendations I have for would-be Matrix owners is that you should invest in a single tank adapter. To me it was an absolute must.

Halcyon.

Works no matter where you take it, and is perfect for everything you want to do. Specific answer for cold water - I live in Finland. Doesn't get much colder than that =)
