I am 5'3, 130 lbs, and several of the BCs that I've tried on have been too long for my body. So far the one that is most comfortable is the Sherwood luna, but I was hoping to get some advice or maybe some addition suggestions before I purchased anything.

Thanks in advance!

Oh that's too funny! I'm tall (5'10") and had to wear a Luna once and the sternum strap almost choked me. Hit me right below my neck. I think you are probably right about the Luna being a good fit for a shorter woman.

I would also consider a BP/W because you can customize the fit of the harness, dive with less weight and they do wonders for your trim.

I'm 5' 3 1/4 and 10 lbs lighter so we are pretty close in size. I bought the ScubaPro LadyHawk because it sits so comfortably and doesn't overhang my hips like the other BCs did. The Back Inflate style is very comfortable.

I'm the same size as you - I got the Oceanic Isla and really like it.

My wife is 5'4" with a slender build, and she loves her Scubapro LadyHawk. We shifted her weights around to get the proper trim, and she won't let me get rid of it for anything. I tried to talk her in to a BP/wing.

FYI...you can get a shorter back plate if you are short from your waist to your shoulders, just in case you decide to try a BP/wing at some point in time.

So many replies already! :) Thanks for the input everyone.

You should also take a look at the reviews of women's BCs on the www.scubadiving.com site. It was very helpful to me to see a side by side comparison of the features and specs.

I hear the Diva is awesome. Did try on the Diva in the store and it felt very good. I am of similar height, yet am well "insulated" with large shoulders. Could never find anything that fit, then got a BP/W. Love it. It fits ME.
