BULA VINAKA!
ok so i have a few questions.
What is the Viz like in beqa lagoon for the shark dives in November? is viz up or down?
Also, What is the Likely hood of seeing one of the Tigers that frequents the Area. do the tigers come around the dive sights more frequently durring certain months of the Year or do they just kind of show up when they feel so inclined?

I have a month left here in Suva and i am dying to do the Shark Dive one more time before i go back home. just trying to figure out when. also, Who should i dive with?
Since diving in Fiji for the last 4 months i have heard a lot of bad mouthing about Beqa Adventure Divers which i found mildly surprising since i thought they were a pretty good organization. Does anyone have any suggestions with who to use for the shark dive? BAD or Aquatreck?

Vinaka!!

Only a couple operators and they do the same thing? So pick one. The viz is never fantastic in Beqa Lagoon as Pacific Harbor can have a lot of runoff and its a lagoon and the water doesn't exchange that often! Viz will be 60 to 70ft in November. All three of my Tiger Videos on our site were shot in November! It is about 60% / 40% that one will show! The bulls show up every dive and they are huge! But there is nothing like the three Tigers that can show up!

You saw many bulls in November? I was told that they go to rivers for breeding from Oct to Jan.
I did 2 dives in Beqa last month and only 1 bull was sighted. Maybe just I was unlucky.

I have done both BAD boys and Aquatreck. I liked BAD boys better because they did not chum the water as much and you saw more of the action. I have done four tanks with Aquatreck and it was hard to see the sharks with all the other fish coming in for the chum.

Three to four Bulls the last three Novembers! It is called the "Big Fish Feed" by Aquatreck for a reason, but it does bring them ALL in! ;)

Here was two of the bulls that same year as the above shot:

Same dive and a Big Lemon Shark was in also known as a Sand Tiger in some areas.

thanks for the info. guess i'll hope for the best. still not sure whether or not i'm gonna go with BAD for a second time or see what aquatreck has to offer. guess i got a bit of time to decide. thanks again for the info

That's why they call it a big fish feed and they never guarantee what will show up! It is a wild fish type deal, no sea world intro, you gets what you gets! But when they show it is a show! ;)

I did the shark dive three days in one week with Aquatrek in july 2006 and it was sensational. Had a Tiger on one day so thats a 33% success rate - but every dive involved 10 or so big fat mean-lookin Bulls and several Silvertips (and they are a beautiful shark). The day we saw the Tiger another group dived with BAD and they missed out - they had nowhere near as many sharks as we enjoyed - but then that's just the luck of the draw and may not be how it usually goes. Aquatrek now run the shark feed at a dive site with a small upturned wreck (check out Saspotato's excellent review and photos). I'm going back to Beqa next July for another play with the Tiger.
