We're considering planning a trip to Belize in July (group of guys). I haven't looked much into this, so I have some basic questions:

1) Is there one general beach area where most divers stay? Or are there several good dive locales?

2) I'm assuming you fly into Belize City. Is it easy to get to dive locales from the airport?

3) What is weather like in early July?

4) Suggestions for good hotels/dive operations? We typically don't do anything too fancy for hotels, but we want something decent. We like reputable and safe dive operators. Even better if the dive operator is on site at the hotel.

5) Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Dave

1) San Pedro in Ambergis Cay is a great dive location with several nice places to stay. We stayed at a timeshare, so you'll need to research hotels. I hear Ramon's is nice. If you want to just dive and skip the partying, one of the outer cays is nice. Lighthouse Reef or Turneffe are nice.

2) You can fly from Belize City to Ambregis Cay or take a water taxi. Flights are also available to the other destinations.

3) We were there in late June and had no complaints about the weather. It was pleasant

4) Amigos Del Mar is a fantastic dive op.

We had a great time in Belize with awesome diving. I recommend it. Have fun!
