I'm left-handed, you less intelligent folk(righties) have messed up a lot of things for us lefties. So I suggest that once a left-handed diver becomes worthy of diving on his/her own that we are in actuality better divers. Flame on:popcorn:

That's probably true. So as a right-hander, I hope you'll be understanding and wait patiently while I try and figure out what you're telling me with those crazy hand movements when you run out of air!

Any rational and/or logical justification for that statement of yours?
what exactly the difference it makes while diving being left or right handed? AFAIK, I don't use my hands that much (apart from equalizing & operating the LPI) to worry about it!

See the intelligent part of my statement just kicked in:mooner:

It's interesting that I find this topic today, because I was just thinking about this earlier today. But as a rabid lefty-rights person, I have to say, the OP says nothing of interest or importance. What is your POINT here???

The Hogarthians seem to think it matters. One standard I happened to be reading earlier today, which got me thinking about this, was:

"Your right hand should always be free. Your left hand should hold the Goodman handle head light. The canister installed on the right waist strap" (Yucatech Expeditions. The Hogarthian Way.).

Why should the right hand be the free hand? No doubt because whomever came up with this was right handed. I'm sure they will go on to say that the left-handers can just "adapt" since it is so important for everyone to be doing things the same way. They would never succumb to adapting to how a left-hander would prefer to do things, of course.

So, I would say that, being VERY left-handed (probably because both of my parents were left-handed), this is not an ideal configuration for me. My right hand is largely a useless appendage. I'm definitely going to want my LEFT hand free for "whatever", rather than my right hand. I'm not likely to follow standards with a right-hander bias.

Reread your post, I think of this all the time. If you are a lefty then you should be getting my point by now, but really i was just having fun at the expense of my left handedness because I live in a righthanded world so I have to be twice as dextrous or get hurt.

But please I was just joking about the smarts thing.
