Can anybody tell me something about diving at east from Timor? Islands: Wetar, Moa, Romang, Damar, Jamdena, Aru…? Is it worth to reach those places for diving? Can anybody to recommend something?

Will go there in October on board of MV Amira. We will start in Maumere and end up in Tanimbar. According to reports from the Seven Seas http://www.thesevenseas.net/newsletters/2010-12.html the region has some potential. There are very few ships going there. Best time should be May or October/November.

I've not been to the islands you speak of, but have been to East Timor 3 times. If you'd like any info about diving there, feel free to pm

Thanks for replies. We are going to visit those islands next year and I'll be grateful for any info
Not sure you'd find dive equipment and somewhere to fill a tank.
Maluku can get quickly remote, esp. eastern. I went to Kei 4 months ago, which is still touristic (there were at least 20 western people on the island, but was the only diver) I couldn't even find a compressor, of the two people who were expected to hire a boat and a tank, accroding to the bungalow owner, one was recently deceased, the other one gone back to Bali.

Hope you can speak bahasa too, otherwise I wouldn't be very optimistic.

I know that we scarcely find tanks, compressor… on the islands. We are going to take charter for two weeks with start from Alor for example or from Kupang.
