Perch Lake is a natural spring-fed lake with a rock, sand, and gravel bottom that has good clarity year around. There is a county park with a beach and boat access. Parking is $8 for the day and there is no admission charge. The lake is frequented by divers and has a training platform and various underwater "treasures" to discover, including a cash register. Gasoline motors are prohibited though there are a few boats with electric trolling motors, and paddlecraft.
Though it's not in the video, I did recover a nice anchor in 52 feet of water later in the day. It was attached to a 50' rope
. The bottom of the lake drops off steeply and boaters are easily fooled into thinking they're in the shallows.
This is an easy dive that is suitable for almost anyone. It is possible to dive from the boat access by the parking lot which avoids all the gear transport, and some people do exactly that.
Also, I used my new magenta filter...
