A friend of mine was stung by a wasp on saturday. He has never had any allergies to bees or wasp stings. He is aprox 50 years of age.
The next day he noticed slight redness in an area aprox 2.5" around the sting but didnt think anything about it.The sting was on the inside of his wrist. He is a divemaster and was helping an open water class get certified on sunday. He got to 42feet max on the two dives he did.On the last dive as he pulled his wetsuit off the area had grown all the way to his elbow. The next morning it was almost to his shoulder. He goes to the doctors and they say it is cellusitis or an infection in the skin.Does he need a second opinion?Would it have been wise not to dive?Did the water pressure have anything to do with this?
I think I would have made the same choice as he and made the dives. This was in freshwater BTW.
