I'm a Fish!
I know... very lucky!
Seen off Egyptian coast - Marsa Alam.
We were v. fortunate to be in the right place at the right time!
Dugong and Turtle.
Dugong - truly incredible creature - dived with it and my wife with no-one else around. Seemed quite inquisitive and at the surface followed us for a short while - beautiful!
Trip to Elphinstone - tiger and OWT shark - wife had camera - I was too busy with OWTs...but that's another story... all I can say is you are at most vulnerable at surface with zodiac pick up!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. :)

Nice photos. Where was this?

I'm glad you had such a nice experience. I've seen a dugong once at Marsa Abu Dabbab, but it was not so pleasant; watching it from a distance being harassed by other divers and tourists.

Very cool... I see manatees when I'm visiting my Mom in Florida, but I've never seen a dugong.

Thanks guys. My wife & I were exceptionally lucky. We were at Marsa Alam and the turtle pic is from Abu Dabab site where there is occassionally a dugong (although I have never seen it)

We spotted the dugong at another bay north of Abu dabab quite by chance as the zodiac was heading off from the anchored hard boat. About 200 yards from the boat I thought I saw it breathe - we told the group that we were going to try our luck at locating it as they weren't that keen on searching over a sea grass plain. After about 20mins we managed to find it and were incredibly lucky ... just the dugong, my wife and I.

The dugong seemed very relaxed with us nearby.

Thats great! Nice pictures, thanks. Being able to see a dugong is a special experience, I have not been lucky to see one yet. Hoping some day...
