I will be in the areas of Mactan Island and Panglao Island in the Philippines for the last two weeks in February. I would like to know if there are any good places to snorkel from the beach. I have a motion sickness problem and would wind up chumming in no time if snorkleling from a boat. I beach snorkeled on the west coast of Cozumel Island, near Cancun, and it was fantastic. Lots of different fish with fantastic visibility and warm water. At one beach, as soon as your foot hit the water, a hundred or so 1/2" long fishes were congregating at your ankles. At another beach, I saw a barrecuda larger than myself. It would be nice to find some beaches like this along the coast of Panglao Island in Bohol. I will most likely stay at Alona Beach and travel to Pamilacan Island and Balicasag Island (special permission?). I believe that Mactan snorkeling is not going to compare to Bohol snorkeling, but would still like to hear any recommendations. I will have access to this site during my stay in the Central Visayas, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
