I would love to go, but family duties prevent it. I think you might have the tides wrong though.

This has been pretty reliable for me and high tide is around 6:30 am tomorrow and 6:45 Sunday. I guess you could dive low tide, but high tide is really better. I have gone there in the dark, and it is a place you can dive in the dark. Be careful though, last time I was there one of the divers wound up coming up at Beach 19th Street and the cops brought him back.

Here is a link for Ponquogue Bridge, another great shore dive

But again it is a high tide site. PM me if you are going on a different day.

Here is a link to Wreck Valley forum where you might get more takers. Alot of LI divers on the site.

Thank you for Info. I do agree the high tide is much better. I usually check Noreast.com for tide the on you using is about 30 min off from the one I’m using.

I know this place could get really bad in no time. I did around 20 dives there in last 4 weeks, in all kind of conditions. And from 20 ft to 0 fit viz. I actually did one today (got hook twice by fisherman on Tuesday lol)

Regards

You need to watch out for the errant wine bottles from both the surface and UW. Also, the fine silt that washes in can really wreak some damage on your gear - drysuit valves, regs. etc.

I think Beach and 8th st. is the sad Northeast equivalent of diving something like the Breakwater in Monterey. Best with your dive tomorrow and may the current be still and the viz. terrific.

I've never been to 8st, wouldn't mind trying. I'm still fairly inexpedienced, Jamaica, Mexico and Dutch Springs is the extent of my diving experience. If you don't mind diving with a rookie, let me know.

Pozdrawiam :)

Have they finished dredging there yet? I was going to go earlier in the season, but I heard that it was best to wait until they were done for the visibility to return...

Dredging has been done for a couple of months.
