I own a Zeagle Ranger LTD BCD. I am a new diver with 20 dive on this BCD. When I am rinsing and cleaning my equiptment after each dive I am finding that I need to dump some water from my BCD wing, through my dump valve. There isn't alot of water maybe 10 - 15 oz. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong during my dive (like not getting vertical enough when dumping air) or is this a defect with my equiptment? I am not having any other problems and really like the BCD.

Thanks Dave

I think you are leaking.

Seriously, every time you let air out of your BC (any BC), you're letting water in. Drain it. Rinse it. Drain it again.

Are you doing something wrong ???
Not realy but it's most likely the time you take to vent air from your BC.Most new divers open the deflator way to long,as soon as the air is out water can and will enter.
How to resolve this would be your next question....Just one possible answer,go dive, dive and than somemore.

Good luck and have fun on your dives.:D

Especially if you try to let air of the inflator hose and there is no air left. Then you're just holding the valve open for water to enter. Just be sure to rinse it thoroughly. I always put some fresh water in mine, inflate it and shake it around and then drain the water.

There will always be a small amount of water in your bc. This happens when you are venting air and maybe holding the dump valve open a little too long. If air is not going out, water is coming in. Also you are a new diver and likely making more buoyancy adjustments than necessary which would allow a little more water into the bc.

Blow up your bc manually. If it loses air, its leaking. I just had mine repaired after about 3 years of use. Luckily, it was under warranty.
