BCD for Technical as well as recreational?

I am currently diving a Scubapro glideplus BCD. This summer I am planning on taking a deep divers course. I am wondering what BCD I should go with that would be great for technical deep dives as well as recreational diving.

Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated.

I believe Zeagle makes a "tech" BC that can swap bladders. If you plan to use doubles, make sure whatever you get for a system does not have a plastic frame as is the case with most BC's. The plastic can't safely handle the weight.

CMH777, I would strongly counsel anyone stepping into overhead-restricted (deco) to use a BP/W. I cannot imagine dealing with deco gas, long hose and light(s) without the clean, uncluttered chest and logical ring arrangement that comes from a BP/W.

On the other hand, keep your GlidePlus for easy recreational diving. It's nice to have the multi-axis stability and a nice-all-in-one package to throw on.

Depends on what you mean by a "deep course" and "technical." If it's something like the TDI Deco Procedures, you can get by with something like a Ranger. If you're doing more serious tech courses with doubles and stages, then, like everyone has said, a backplate would be best and many are perfectly comfortable with it on recreational dives.

Actually financialy I'd be considered lower middle class. I don't make that much $ at all.

I guess I just have different priorities as to whats important to spend $ on.

Edit: I see on your website that you have a rec rig, and a tec rig also.

So whats up with your comment?

The only difference between my rec and tec gear is the stage bottles. My backplate/wing works just as well at 30 feet as it does at 200.

So whats up with your comment?

My comment is the fact that there is no need to have two seperate rigs for Tech and Rec diving.

There is no need to to shell out up to another grand for a seperate rig. Sure it is nice having two or three full sets but it is no way essential.
