Skipper,
I'm not familiar with that particular BC, but if you're looking at weight integrated BCs look for a reliable weight system with positive engagement and a one hand release. I can't tell from the photo, but i've seen a number of BCs whose weights needed 2 hands or 2 steps to be released.

The time factor may one day be important, though it's probably a matter of seconds difference. The real issue is ease when removing the weights and handing them up before climbing into small boats. The weights with clumsy systems are more likely to be dropped and lost.

Thanks all, these are all very good tips.
This was what my LDS recommended. I thought I could use that velcro pocket for my sausage or something (only in SCUBA world is that statement safe)... I thought that BC looked "cool" in the pictures... I guess I may have to sacrifice cool for practical (darn that practical).
Whatever I end up with I'll be packing a weight belt for travel (got a cool $6 one with a metal buckle!)

The first BC I ever rented was an Avid and I hated it. I made the evolution to SeaQuest BC's and have ended up with Zeagle. The avid felt confining and at the same time bulky. I rented it at the recommendation of a LDS who pushes ScubaPro and Sherwood gear and whom I no longer associate with. I now have 2 Zeagle BC''s (a new Ranger LTD and an Stiletto) and have no real complaints about either.

I would look around if I were you. LP has the SeaQuest Balance, a well-respected recreational back-inflate that I owned for 5 years for $349.95 and it is the newer black/red model with Surelock integrsted weights. I just bought one for the wife and she loves it.
