hey all;

i have an awesome back inflate bc built for me almost twenty years ago and the elbow has now finally separated from the bladder and i'm having a heck of a time trying to get it fixed. the rig is in otherwise great condition. it was built by a company called divetek; they were a subsidiary of zeagle. now out of business.

seems that there should be some company out there that would just sell me a new bladder but am really striking out here. the bladder is easily removed and replaced inside the bc, so it's not a question of having to surgically cut it apart like so many new bcs.

and yes, i have been talking to zeagle directly but it does not look promising. and no, i have zero interest in a bpw.

thanks in advance for your help.

super simple, remove the flange that is stuck inside the bladder, should come out with a little lube *ky works quite well actually, but so does dawn dish soap*, buy a new inflator assembly, reverse removal process.

Dive Gear Express, Dive Right in Scuba, and Deep Sea Supply should have them. Just ask for the inner and outer flange, and a new inflator assembly. Should be around $70-$80. Worst case Tobin might actually make a new bladder for you, worth calling.

So to fix that you just need the bladder flange tool and the inner and outter flange assembly?

Would those two items work to rig a normal bladderless BC and allow attachement of the normal elbow etc. I have had several BC's fail because the plastic threading at the inflator conneector disintegrate. i would assume this type of connection would work on a BP/W bladder AND a bladderless BC which is thicker? I've never messed around with this before, but do have a BC which needs repair.. Help?

Thanks.. Damn i cut up a perfectly good BC then a few months ago...

Will give them a call tomorrow. my issue is that the elbow connects (connected) to the bladder via a thermo welded flange so there is nothing to remove. the good news is that it's a clean break, so hopefully somebody has a kit with a new elbow and connecting hardware.
