And you have two rigs with identical harnesses and identical inflator mechanisms, right?
It's the same.. metaphysically. You might have two rigs, but if the only difference is maybe plate material, the wing, and perhaps an STA, you're golden. Makes things so much easier, I imagine.
It does.
One has an AL plate, and the other is SS.
The AL is for my doubles rig, with a 55 lb Halcyon wing and no STA.
The SS is for my singles rig with a 36 lb Halcyon wing and STA. I have 2 small trim pockets on the tank bands.
The inflators are in the same position for each rig, as is the knife, d-rings, and everything else. No re-learning. Muscle memory. I know where everything is at all times. And my dive buddies are all rigged the same way.
