I really like my Delta, It takes some adjusting to get the size right but once it's set it rocks. The only drawback I've found to the weight system is the fact that you can't easily remove the weight pockets and put them in after you don the BC but you can put about 40lbs of lead in them.

I don't know anything about the TUSA you don't see much of their stuff up here .

Back on topic, Scubado... what BC are you using?

Dave

I like the chest strap, it snugs the BC more to my body. Probably DIR says to not use it, but I like it and my makes me feel more secure.
(I like using quick connects on my shoulder straps too)

Sherwood Freedom. Just got it. I like it alot but that darn strap goes right over my inflator hose. No problem though, you all were right. It comes right off. With the added bulk of undies under my dry suit, the strap isn't really needed anyway. While diving in a 3mm, I will probably put it back on because of the lack of bulk. Thanks for your thoughts gang. Man, you guys are quick with the responses. I am impressed with this board thus far! What a great resource, even for silly strap questions...

I dove with a Sherwood Freedom for several years. With a wetsuit or a drysuit. Very comfy BC. I miss it, although it may be that I'm just not used to my Transpac II / wings. Hard to teach this old dog new tricks!

Anyway, the strap on my Freedom went right over the inflator button as yours does. Once in the water it didn't matter, gravity or non-gravity moved it out of the way. & when it didn't move out of the way, it didn't matter as the button is bigger than the strap and I could push both together. Oooh, just realized I don't know how the design of the Freedom changed since I bought mine in 1989.

Glad you found your solution.
