Hi-
i am considering getting a bc (zeagle scout) but not the octo or other gear. i dive only on vacation so far, and i want to make sure that the bc will have compatible connections for what ever the dive shop carries.
so- are the connections universally compatible? how many standards are there, and should i plan to bring adopters?
thanks.

Bring your own BC hose because the one standard in the universe (almost) is the 3/8" fitting where the hose attaches to the regulator. If the rental reg doesn't have the proper hose, have them install yours.

Otherwise, there are at least 3 standards for the quick disconnect at the inflator. You can download the Trident catalog and see the variations. I don't think you will find 'adapters'.

would that be the 3/8 inflator hose? thanks. and what length is recommended? i am 5'11

one usually comes with new bc's there are different sizes just call and see what size they have if not same size ask if they can switch the rental LP hose to yours or one of theirs that will fit, they take about 2 mins to change so it isnt that big of a deal for them aslong as they are an ok shop

excellent, thank you. sounds like i will be good to go with just the bc.

Or just take a wrench along with you, test theirs and if it does not work, swap it out yourself....don't ask-don't tell. :)

Just be sure to get yours back!
