We are not staying at San Dollar or Den Laman so how do we dive Bari Reef? Where would we park? Where would we access the water?

There is a large open area between Eden Beach (where Wannadive has a location) and Den Laman.

We park there/ suit up and do the dive as a drift dive down to Buddy Dive and get out at buddy dive. You can also go in at Eden Beach and drift dive down to Den Laman and then come back to the shore entry point to exit.

Look at the boats to determine current and that will help you decide which way to start and end the dive!

Or sneak in when Andre is not looking:shocked2:

You can also park in Den Laman's parking lot, walk between the buildings to the right, and instead of entering off of BDA's dock, simply go down to the "beach" on either side and enter from there. We saw people using the dock last year and nobody paid attention, but perhaps it was because Andre wasn't around.....we actually have only seen Andre once in the 2 years we've stayed at Den Laman.

We'll be on Bonaire in 2 days!! can't wait. :D :D :D

You can drive up to the dive shop area at Buddy's Resort and drop off your gear. Then park in the regular parking area and start your dive from Buddy's pier. Or you can go to Capt Don's and pay them $5 US and dive from their pier. Just to the left of the Capt Don's pier at 40 feet you will find the La Machaca wreck. If you go to about 130 feet you can see the hull of a wreck to the right of the line. You can also see the monument to Capt Don to the right of the pier at 40 feet. Or there is another dive shop past Capt Don's - don't remember the name that you can start your dive from. Then go left and you will find the site "The Cliff" that used to be called "Small Wall"

Why would anyone want to pay $5 to see a stupid plaque :confused:Jack the Manager at Capt. Dons only charges that ridicoulous fee when he needs drinking $ If that is the Case go in at yellow Sub pier on the other sida of capt. Don's and go from there. What are you going to run into the Scuba police telling you that you have to pay $5 to be on that reef :shakehead: Just dive it Man and enjoy yourself:D

The easiest is to just park at Eden beach walk accross their beach, wave to the web cam, get in and swim right.

Do check the moored boats for any current. Great dive did it many times in March.

Thanks for the tips. It turned out to be easier access than I thought. We simply parked in the dirt lot just south of Den Laman and went in at the small beach in front of Den Laman. Not really sure they like that but nobody ws there to tell us not to. It was a really nice dive today. Two French Angelfish were circling a coral head and let us get within a foot of them and they just kept circling it with us right there. Saw lots of the typical reef fish. Also saw the body of a spotted moray but couldn't find its head anywhere. A large tarpon came to check us out in the sand flats just as we were finishing.

That's the way to do it. We simply go where the yellow markers are immediately south of Den Laman, park near the water and enter at Den Laman beach area... did it yesterday
