I need a wetsuit for 30°C water. I originally purchased Reactive 7mm for colder water and it has been great.
I originally wanted to get the Revel as the thinnest suit Bare makes, but the shop said it doesn't come in the size I got the Reactive in (MLShort), the closest being M and ML. If I get the ML version, the sleeves and legs might be too long, and M might be too small for me. They offered Velocity Ultra instead which does come in MLShort, but is warmer.
I'm mostly getting the suit as environment protection, so I don't get a jellyfish sting on my body or something similar, less so as temperature protection. On the other hand I will go on three dives a day, so that might make me colder. I've heard stories on both ends, people diving without wetsuits because the were overheating in any suit and people diving in 5mm suits in the same temperature and being just fine.
If I get Revel, assuming it fits, I'll have to drive 140km one way to try it out, but I'm unlikely to overheat in it. On the other hand, if I get Velocity Ultra, I can just order it since I know the size, but I'm more likely to overheat in the suit. Revel is a bit cheaper, but Velocity Ultra would ultimately cost me less since I wouldn't have to make the drive.
Am I overthinking this? Will I be significantly warmer in Velocity Ultra than in Revel? Should I just get Velocity Ultra and be done with it, or would it be wise to try out the Revel?
