BARE unveils the world’s warmest dive wetsuit at DEMA

This year at DEMA, the BARE design team will showcase a major innovation in wetsuit comfort; Reactive, the first wetsuit in dive to use a responsive textile that continuously warms the diver using their own body heat.

The suit is made with scientifically proven Celliant® Infrared Technology - 13 thermo-reactive minerals woven into the fabric lining that convert body heat into infrared energy and reflect it back onto the diver. Since there’s no minimum heat requirement needed to activate the infrared process, the suit is warm from the moment it’s donned and stays warm through the entire dive. 
“This is quite a significant breakthrough in wetsuit comfort,” says Tyler Dickman, Brand Manager for BARE. “Reactive is the first suit of its kind to utilize Celliant® Infrared  technology and NST. Because we’ve also incorporated our No-Stitch Technology (NST), there are no seam stitches anywhere – it’s all heat taped and sealed – the diver stays drier. Usually, we use that system for drysuits – this is the first wetsuit we’ve used it on. We’ve also incorporated a proprietary neoprene offering our highest degree of stretch, so it’s unbelievably comfortable and responsive to dive in.”
Can a suit make you a better diver? Medical studies have shown that infrared energy improves the body’s circulation. Increased circulation improves oxygen levels in the body, enabling you to use less energy, improving overall warmth and increasing your dive time.

Well, "warms" is a vague term. If the sooper-dooper space age materials are reflecting--er, converting--50% of the radiant body heat the diver is giving off, they're still 50% warmer than they'd be without the insulation--er, thermo-reactive minerals--in the suit lining.

the title, "world’s warmest dive wetsuit" is bound to generate some scepticism. the biggest enemy of staying warm in a wetsuit is flushing. if the suit isn't a good fit with good seals and a dry/semi-dry zip, the material that it is made from is irrelevant.
