I would suggest that you look into diving with Andrew Western of EcoDivers.
Having been diving all over the Caribbean, we have not had a better DM.

I have sent you a PM with a number of links to trip reports I have posted in the past on Barbados. How long are you going to be there? I would be glad to suggest a number of things to do and see and keep "wasted time" to a minimum.
Sure wish I was going too!!
