I'll be in Barbados from the 30th of November til the 11th of December and doing 3 days of diving with The Dive Shop Barbados. Barbados Diving: The Dive Shop Ltd. - SCUBA in Barbados since 1965!
Anyone else going to be there?:cool2:

Wow, followed your link to The Dive Shop Ltd.'s website, only to see that Haroon had passed away earlier this year. Dove with those guys about ten years ago, and have always wanted to get back there (and it's still on the list). Stavro is a must-do dive, and I bet ten years later, just getting better; and the bottle hunting dives are pretty cool, as well.

I did a night dive with them, in the main harbor, among the various wrecks, and remember Haroon pointing up, and we were only in about 30' of water. When you looked, it was a full moon, and the water was so clear it almost magnified the image.

Just writing this makes me want to get back there that much sooner.

RIP, Haroon!

,,,,, Stavro is a must-do dive,,,,,QUOTE]

Living near the coast of NC, I found the Stav a less than interesting dive. The main reason was there are so many wrecks off the coast of NC I have done and that the current on the Stav (at least when I dove it) was pretty ripping. Finally, the bottom time is so little because of the depth. On vacation I want long bottom times.

My favorite wreck dive there on Barbados is a tiny ship called the PAMIR. If you want some nice swim throughs and the like, it cant be beat. Also, there is the Carlisle Bay shore dive that has a couple nice wrecks. But the Pamir will be lots of fun for a first time wreck diver.

The money in the "back to Barbados" coffee can keeps building. yea!

I booked 6 dives with the Dive Shop this year and was only able to make two as I had a family emergency. I had to rush home and could not make the rest of the dives. I spoke with Fatima (Haroons wife) and they promptly refunded me the difference - no questions asked. Excellent customer service. I had a great time diving with Gabby and Klause. I only managed to do Pieces of 8 and Friars Craig. They were both nice. I got to see 3 Large Moray Eels and tons of other fish. If I had time we would have done the other wrecks, maybe next year.
The dive shop will be moving to a new location soon as they have lost their spot at the Grand Barbados resort.

We just got back from Barbados today. We had some great dives with the Dive Shop and Fatima was wonderful. They take great care of things and we enjoyed our dives with Klaus. We saw 5 or 6 turtles on every dive and lots of beautiful eagle rays at the Boot.
