How much experience have you had with bull sharks? Is it possible to train them at least to the degree where they'll differentiate food from hand and identify an individual feeder? Obviously, this fellow still has both his hands.
Therefore, it must have been possible to do at least this much training with this particular shark.
No, it's not something that I would want to undertake. but thing that bugs me about some diver opinions is the degree to which they seem to be generalizations and a herd mentality seem to substitute for solid research or actual experience.
Yes, there is evidence that bull sharks should be avoided, or at the very least treated with great caution, but this particular situation also proves that there may be some degree of individuation an/or trainability.
Pit Bull Terriers are generally perceived as very dangerous dogs, but there are occasional individuals that seem to break that rule.
Of course, sharks are not nearly as intelligent as dogs, but they've been so demonized in the pupolar mind that we ---divers-- of all people should do our best to not feed into stereotypes about them.
