Greetings all-

We are thinking of doing the Baja Sur Loop in October. Fly into Cabo. Rent a car.
Drive to Cabo Pulmo and do a few dives. Then drive north to La Paz. Finally back to Cab Airport.
We are going to take 6 days to do the loop with potential to dive 5 days. We do not want to dive Cabo San Lucas. We have all our own equipment sans tanks and weights. We are AOW.

Anyone have any special spots or recommendations along the loop they like to dive?

-Beth

october is the best time for cabo pulmo, at least 3 days of 2 tanks can be done there, even a night dive is well worth it. there is cabins you can rent there, it will be hot and dry, and the water will be mid to high 80's, el bajo is my favorite, in the northern part of pulmo, down to los frailes in the south.
around la paz, the whale sharks should be starting to swim around, these are with snorkel, inside the bay, in about 20 feet of water, a great day, then out on the islands, los islotes has the sea lion colony, always entertaining, and of course the wreck diving at los salvaterra turns up very cool sea life.
.... but you shouldn't write cabo itself off, here in the bay we have a huge array of fish life, only 3 minutes out from the marina, with the warm water, makes for a very impressive two tank dive in the mornings! even gordo banks for the schooling hammerheads off san jose!

Hi Beth, give us a call when you arrive. Definetely the dates you are coming are the best to dive at the sea of cortez for sure. We have plenty experience conducting private tours to cabo pulmo and la paz, however would be great to make a pair of check out dives on the first day of diving, here at cabo san lucas bay. To check weights , buoyancy and equipment in general. We dive SAFEAIR here at the shop.
