This may not be the right spot for this (my apologies) but . . .

Thought you guys & gals might be interested in our trip report on our dives last week in the Sea of Corteza out of La Paz. Pix, too. Here are the links to our website:

Enjoy! (And don't forget to let me force you to watch the 4-minute sldies - with music -the next time you're in the store.)

Sounds like an incredible trip, and that one picture of the mobula school head-on gave me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing.

It must have great diving in Baja 1800 years ago, imagine all the fish! I guess it was freediving back then.

OOOPS!!! I guess I'm older than I look.
(I've corrected it for those wondering what this is all about. Thanks for the heads-up.)

Nice photos!!

You sure picked the right week to go! I was in La Paz diving Sept 30 - Oct 5. Just a few days before ya. Lost a day of diving because of hurricane otis & the next day was monster swells. We didn't see any mobula or have nearly the great viz you had!!

Did you guys get hit by the tiny little stinging things in the water? I believe they might have been very tiny hydroids. We encountered them at Suwanne Reef and San Rafaelito.

Hi Ken,

Welcome to ScubaBoard! :happywave

It's nice to see you here.

As a member in SoCal, this is a fine place to post a dive report like this. It's only when something crosses the line into being a promotional piece that it would be moved into the Trips & Local Marketplace... SoCal forum, but it would still be welcome.

We've also got a "sticky" thread were people post their dives reports from around SoCal at the top of this forum. We start a new thread each month for the new reports to go into.

So, either way is fine. When it's a trip to someplace exotic like your Baja trip, it's typical to see it posted like this on its own.

I look forward to seeing you on the Sundiver, October 29th.

i think those stinging things are sea fleas? friends who dove baja told me about those too... something kept biting them like little needles... lol

Those stinging things are broken up jelly fish from the storms stirring up the seas. I was in La Paz snorkeling the 1st week of october right after the storm and got the same small stings. Wasn't too bad, but definately noticable
