My sister is getting married on a cruise to the bahamas. It is the carnival Fantasy leaving on March 13. The problem is that there is no ship sponsered scuba excursions. Can anyone recomend a charter for Freeport and Nassau. I have 12hrs in freeport and 24hrs in nassau

Thanks
Ben

Try Stuart Cove in Nassau. They have an early morning trip and an afternoon trip. Not sure what time the Fantasy docks but give yourself an hour to get through Bahamas customs. They pick up for the afternoon trip at noon right in front of the customs building. BTW, they also have a shark feed dive which is a blast.

I am so happy to read all of your comments. I just made reservations at Bell Channel Inn and Carribean Divers for a long weekend in July. Does anyone else have any comments on diving in Freeport? Thanks!

Xandau, on Grand Bahama, will also pick you up at your hotel. Really nice people. If you can, dive the Sea Star II. It's a neat wreck surrounded by beautiful reefs. The Theo gets the publicity, but its a wreck in the middle of sand, though it is big enough for a couple of swim throughs.

The SeaStarII (Duncan's Wreck) is a cooler dive than it used to be!! It was in the sand. Wilma twisted it in half and shoved it up against a reef. Now it's a very interesting wreck dive.

Just when I thought I was getting to know all the dive sites off of Grand Bahama, The Hurricanes changed everything!! :D

I was just wondering what ur experience was with this Inn and operator.
Thanks ...

We had a very nice time and the diving was great, we were advanced divers and sometimes they would take us to more beginner type dives due to the fact the rest of the people were beginners. They tried to be as accomodating as they could but I would have liked to dive more challanging dive sites. The divemaster and crew were great. The hotel was nice but not updated, we didn't care since we were there to dive. I would go back but i would make sure they guarenteed me advanced dive sites.
