The one day disposable contacts are defiantly the way to go because of the comfort, and safety of not having to decontaminate any funky stuff you may get on them in the water.

Cost is about $1.00 per day of diving. I have never lost one either. In fact, getting the out at the end of the day is my biggest challenge as they tend to want to stay in.

Enjoy the diving.

so I don't know that your vision will be worse than anyone else's during an underwater maskless swim, if that is a comfort. For the mask clearing and removal, as others have said, you can do that eyes closed. Actually, I think the pool is harder than sea water on those of us with contacts -- the chlorine can sting and irritate. I, too, use disposable lenses, when diving -- if there is a chance of contamination, I just throw them out and put in a new pair..

Forget about contact and all these worries go to your local dive shop with your prescription and purchase lenses for your mask, they have lenses that attach right on your mask and this way you won't have to worry about this any longer

What My Inst told me to do during the underwater maskless swim was to let my buddy guide me. I wear disposable contacts in every dive i've done and los only one.
