Hey scuba friends,

I have jet fins with Halcyon spring straps. Part of the reason I bought them was the "indestructible," and "bullet proof" labels people use to describe them.

Now, it seems that my spring strap is getting stetched out on one side. it no longer stays compressed while at rest. Maybe in the water I pulled too hard while I was putting it on. But still, I thought that the straps were tougher than that. I have only had them since this summer.

Am I just too hard on them or did I get a bad strap? Do you think this is going to be a problem? I got the expensive Halcyon straps because I wanted to use up store credit at a shop that would not give me a refund on a return (a very annoying policy considering the item was unused). It seems that maybe the investment didn't pay off...

Opinions?

Manufacturing defect; the cord inside the spring was obviously too long, allowing the spring to become stretched beyond it's limit.
Bring 'em back to the shop, when you're paying top dollar for a brand name, you should expect the shop & manufacturer to stand behind the goods.
