Climbergirl33 - welcome to the board, sorry for your bad experience. I have never been to PV to dive so I don't know anything about the area. Only thing I have ever heard (from a friend who got married there a few yrs ago) was that the diving was bad, dive op dropped them over a bunch of rocks and told them it was the reef and second dive was just over sand with nothing to see. I don't know what dive op she used, but reading your report reminded me of her experience. I don't really know if that is truly what diving is like in that area, but I have yet to read any great reports or see any great photos that convince me otherwise. So thanks for posting. ;)

Do not take offense to those who might have said you must be a "troll". :troll:
You must understand that on SB we are a family and we are very protective ALL the information posted here. We want true honest opinions, not those done just in mean spirit to hurt others. A "troll" is a little evil creature that only pops out from under the bridge to scare people, then disappears.... and that is what your very first post here on SB did appear to be. It was your first appearance and it was very negative. You have got to see it from our side too, you did appear and disappear after trashing a dive op. If you are not a troll, then by all means start joining in the conversations on all the Forums here on SB, share some of your experiences with others both good and bad, or just discuss ideas here with other members. That is what SB is all about. :D

I too am very pleased to see Climbergirl come back and both clarify and back up her comments and observations. Adds greatly to her credibility.

The freewheeling nature of internet forums allows any one access, and the ability to say anything they wish, pretty much anonymously. Even slander, attack, criticize, lie, spread rumors, or what ever nasty thing they wish, if that is their choice. It is up to everyone else to sort threw and decide for them self what is, or is not true. And to express their opinion also!

We need thick skins to participate.

Climbergirl has the right to post her comments. Others have an equal right to question and comment, but hopefully without calling anyone names. It's called communicating. It's what we usually do here.

Why can't we all just get along???

When we decend into name calling and personal attacks we have abandoned the concept of "The free and open exchange of ideas and opinions" - B. Grant

Ok, every Dive Op all over the world whether really good or really bad all have one thing in common.. YOU as the diver coming in to use their services dont know what to expect and YOU should never assume you're going to get, what a website states or what one persons says over the phone or via an email. I've been on dive charters within the US and outside the US, they all vary but like I said they all have one thing in common... you don't know what to expect from them so be prepared. I transport all my own gear on every trip I go on (except tanks). Sorry you had such a bad experience.

Once again, thanks for all the advice. It has been very eye opening. I will jump on the board from time to time to see what is happening. Not planning any dive trips til next year, unless we can take a quick jont down to San Carlos, Mexico before the water temps change too dramatically. The diving down there is always a good adventure and includes sea lions!

And we appreciate your acceptance and maturity dealing with the discussion. I wish I could get to San Carlos, too...:depressed:
